Why this company exists
The gap was obvious from the driver's seat
Amanda's route to infrastructure development did not begin with a spreadsheet. It began with a series of ordinary trips: a charging stop in an unlit lot beside moving traffic, a child who needed to move and had nowhere safe to do it, a family member who needed a quiet place to reset, and a restroom that could not accommodate a caregiver.
She noticed that the industry had solved the electron and ignored the hour. Charging speeds keep improving, yet the destination around the charger is still an afterthought — a curb, a screen, and a wait. For families, caregivers, disabled travelers, and anyone traveling with someone who is tired, hungry, or overstimulated, that gap is not an inconvenience. It determines whether the trip happens at all.
Through Sentinel Family Network, Amanda spent years in direct conversation with families about what safety and accessibility require in practice: separation from vehicles, gated play, quiet space, clear sightlines, dignified restrooms, shade, and staff presence. Sentinel Mobility Hub applies that knowledge to a commercial asset class where dwell time already exists and is currently wasted.
Her working thesis is that the neutral host model is the credible one. No single charging brand can serve every vehicle, and no family should have to choose between the charger their car prefers and the environment their family needs. A destination platform can host several networks, anchor real restaurants and local businesses, work with the serving utility on load and resiliency, and give cities an amenity their residents actually use.
Sentinel Mobility Hub is concept stage, and Amanda is direct about that. The current work is site criteria, partner development, feasibility preparation, and design principles — the unglamorous groundwork that determines whether the first hub is built well or built fast.
Perspective
Four lenses on the same problem
A parent and caregiver
Years of long drives with children and family members who need predictable, calm environments made the shortcomings of the average charging stop impossible to ignore.
An EV driver
Charging is not a two-minute errand. It is a twenty-to-forty minute stop, and the surrounding environment determines whether that time is restorative or stressful.
An entrepreneur
Building and operating ventures taught her to look at an experience gap as an asset class: recurring traffic, long dwell time, and multiple willing partners.
A community builder
As creator of Sentinel Family Network, she has spent years listening to families about what safety, accessibility, and dignity actually require in public space.
