Chapter 02 — Charging Experience
A charging perimeter built for every network
Stall geometry, canopy structure, and electrical capacity are designed to accept multiple hardware families — so the site does not age out when the technology moves.
Covered charging perimeter with solar canopy — conceptual rendering
Sentinel is a neutral host. A single hub is designed to accommodate several compatible providers side by side, each with its own zone, its own brand presence, and its own equipment — while sharing the restrooms, the shade, the food, and the security that no single network builds on its own.
Every stall sits under structure. Covered parking is not a luxury item here: it is what makes a twenty-five-minute stop tolerable in Sacramento in July and in Phoenix in August.
Design intent
- Every stall covered — shade is infrastructure, not amenity
- Designed to accommodate multiple providers at one destination
- Accessible stalls distributed throughout, not clustered
Elements
What this chapter is made of
Each element is a planning intent to be resolved through licensed design, engineering, and local review.
Multi-network zones
Distinct branded areas planned so providers who require exclusivity within their own zone can still share one destination.
Universal geometry
Stall widths, pull-through options, and cable reach clearances that suit multiple hardware families rather than one vendor's footprint.
Solar canopies
Structural shade over the full charging field, carrying generation and integrated lighting in one architectural move.
Accessible stalls
Wide stalls with striped transfer aisles, level approach, and screens reachable from a seated position, distributed across zones — not clustered in one corner.
Phased capacity
Conduit, pads, and switchgear space planned for growth so expansion does not mean re-trenching a live site.
Storage and resiliency
Battery storage area sited for peak shaving, session smoothing, and potential resiliency benefit.
Named charging brands are referenced only as potential or target partners. No network is a current partner, and participation would be subject to individual agreements and technical feasibility.
Next step
Let's talk about the first hubs.
We are actively meeting with cities, utilities, landowners, charging networks, operators, and investors at the concept stage.
